The editor was added in version 1.0.1.

Open the Layout Editor

Click the Settings button (gear icon) in the top bar.

The editor is a three-zone drag surface. Every item exists exactly once, so moving a pill out of one zone removes it from that surface immediately.

Changes persist as soon as you drop. There is no separate save button.

Three Zones

The editor shows three drop zones:

ZoneWhat it controls
ToolbarItems shown in the main grid
FunctionsItems shown in the Functions menu
DisabledAvailable items not currently shown anywhere

Drag items between zones to rearrange the panel. Drop order within a zone controls the display order.

What You Can Customize

  • Reorder toolbar buttons
  • Reorder function items
  • Remove items from either surface by dragging them to Disabled
  • Enable hidden items by dragging them from Disabled into Toolbar or Functions
  • Reset everything back to defaults

Hidden Items

Two items exist in Picky but don’t ship active by default:

  • Matted selects layers using a track matte.
  • Matte selects layers acting as track mattes.

Move them from Disabled into Functions (or Toolbar) to expose them in the panel. See Functions & Relationships for their behavior.

Layout Rules

One rule is enforced by the editor:

Every Nth is functions-only. It cannot be dropped into the main toolbar because it needs the stepper controls that only render in the Functions menu layout.

The editor blocks invalid drops visually. The zone highlights red when a drop would be rejected.

Invalid drops are blocked in place. In this example, Every Nth is being dragged toward the Toolbar zone, but the editor rejects it because that control only works in the Functions menu layout.

Disabled by Default

The Disabled zone is not just a trash bin. It is also where hidden-but-supported controls live until you decide to expose them.

  • Matted selects layers that are using a track matte.
  • Matte selects layers that are acting as track mattes.

Both ship inactive by default. Drag them into Functions if you want the extra track-matte tools without crowding the main toolbar.

Reset to Defaults

Click Reset to Defaults at the bottom of the editor to restore the shipped toolbar and functions arrangement from the module config.
